Dear Friend,

We began Netzach Yisroel, as the JRC was known then, as a full-time program in Monsey with one student and 15 part-time teachers. Over time, our student body grew to hundreds. With millions of Jewish women who either lack the knowledge of or passion for Judaism, we couldn’t just stop and focus on our achievements. We created the HaKivun program — building curriculums for high school and training teachers to address the challenges of our time. By helping students connect deeply to Torah and mitzvot, we knew we would also be reaching generations to come. We published our first book targeted to all women, which is already in its second printing. In addition, the HaKivun philosophy curriculum is being taught to women in many different communities.

The HaKivun website publicizes the program internationally and offers written classes, training videos, and guidance on how and what to teach. All are accessible for free to thousands of teachers. Interactive Zoom classes are advertised to teachers across the country; the upcoming course has attracted over 50 teachers. With G-d’s help, the program and its principles of teaching will spread to more and more schools, affecting thousands of students. We are also in the process of writing a second book on holidays, and are putting even more effort into publicizing the HaKivun program.

I want to thank you for your support in the past that has helped us achieve what we have. We would never have imagined we would go from teaching one student to reaching hundreds of teachers with hundreds of their own students. Is it possible to reach even more Jewish souls… to ignite in them a passion for Yiddishkeit and keep it burning brightly? Your support will help us continue to strive to do so.

All the best,
Leah Kohn

About the Jewish
Renaissance Center

Jewish souls come in many different shapes and sizes. Igniting them requires creativity and a commitment to connect with Jewish women in their own unique and modern language. The JRC responds to the changing face of Jewish womanhood with programming that reveals the relevance of Torah in today’s times, teaching methods that are sensitive to individual needs and instructors who are sophisticated and compassionate. The women who participate in our programs come from all backgrounds; they study at the JRC because they know it is here that their intellect will be engaged and their souls nourished.

About HaKivun

While a great deal of attention is being given today to reaching out to the unaffiliated, it is as essential to address the superficial connection to Judaism prevalent among many of our youth. The HaKivun program has, and continues to respond to these challenges. We have created a ground-breaking 2-year curriculum where the foundations of Jewish philosophy are taught systematically. Students are guided to explore sources and discover for themselves the richness, wisdom and relevance of Judaism. While we are continuing to train teachers in how to disseminate the philosophy material, we have also developed a Chumash curriculum and methodology that many schools have adopted. The response of both teachers and students has been enthusiastic. The HaKivun program allows our high school students to internalize the material. They don’t just practice Judaism: Judaism is the core of who they are.
